In the Early Roman Period, Sepphoris - a close neighbor of Nazareth - was the provincial capital of Galilee. Although larger and more urbanized than Nazareth, Sepphoris preserves many features of Roman Period construction, including plastered floors, water installations, general structural dimensions and masonry techniques.
