Gamla, like Jotopata, participated in the disastrous revolt against Rome, and was conquered and destroyed in the 1st Century. Although located in a different region (Golan) and of basaltic construction, the remains of Gamla present a relatively clear picture of a 1st Century settlement, including a synagogue and olive press installation.
