Za’atar and Extra Virgin Olive Oil Set
This traditional spice is a daily staple of Middle Eastern cuisine.
The Za’atar plant is identified by some as the Biblical Hyssop.
There are many variations of this spice mixture today, but most contain “Za’atar” (usually Origanum Syriacum – a cousin of Oregano and Thyme), toasted white sesame seeds, ground sumac, and salt. It is frequently mixed with olive oil and used as a dip for pita bread, or sprinkled over Khumus (chick-pea dip), fresh tomatoes, or meat.
Approximate Weight of Spice Baggy: 70g
Nazareth Village Extra Virgin Olive Oil
A bottle of 100ml (3.4 fl oz) of purely Galilean extra virgin olive oil. It is ideal for making various dips, such as the Za’atar dip, drizzling over Khumus or Labaneh (sour yogurt dip), and salad dressings.
One way to use this set…
Simply open the Za’atar bag and fill a small bowl halfway. Pour the olive oil and mix until all the Za’atar is moistened. Then, use it as a dip or spread it on your choice of bread.
